Jhon Nash... by Cinthya Salinas.

Madness is a Dream you can Awake!

This mathematical genius and intuitive and perhaps too competitive was born in Bluefield Sanatorium ,Virginia on June 13, 1928.

When he was young he had different tastes; he used to play very little, he loved reading, which was unusual for his age. At the same time he always felt self-sufficient (in an interview he said that he didn’t go to class because the classes could interrupt his mind, his thoughts and originality)

At age of 12 he made his own experiments always related to the numbers, calculations and innovative formulations

Finally he earned his doctorate in mathematics by 1950 at age of 21 with a thesis of less than 30 sheets about “Non-Cooperative Games” with this text he was awarded five decades after whit the Nobel Prize for Economics

The Pursuit of Hapynness Trailer

The Pursuit of Happiness. Commented by José Rene Alvarez

The Pursuit of Happyness

Is an American film of 2006 directed by Gabriele muccino and based on the story of Chris Gardner, the main role is played by Will Smith,

Actors:   • Will Smith    • Jaden Smith   • Thandie Newton   • Brian Howe   • Dan Castellaneta

The story is about a man whose name is Chris Gardner. He invest the family savings in a kind of bone scanners which caused economic problems to his family and in special to his wife (Linda) who leaves him and moves to New York where she has taken a job in a pizza parlor. Their son Christopher stay with Chris because Chris and Linda both know that he will able to take better care of him. Without any money or a wife, but committed to his son, Chris sees a chance to fight for a stockbroker internship position at Dean Witter, offering a more promising career at the end of a six-month unpaid training period. But he continued with problems in his house because he didn’t pay the rent. In the end the end he entered to the company with a salary and fixed life insurance and he found happyness.

Suddenly you wonder why the phrase ( happyness ) is written with ”y” and not with “I” I don’t know too because is personal to Will Smith and his son, who is part of his life.

I chose this film because in my case my father did the same thing, he had to work really hard in order to give me education, clothes and food. I admire him, some fathers have to do the same, when suddenly his wife died, when his son was born and he has to be mother and father to his son and feed him. This movie is one of my favorites.

Stephenie Meyer analysis, by Sandritaaa

Stephenie Meyer  is a great  sci-fiction  and romance writer . She was born in  Hartford ,Connecticut   in The United  States.Stephenie wanted to be a lawyer ,but she never thought to be a writtr ,because she believed has not talent for that. However,  she wrote  the  Twilight  series  ( Twilight,New Moon,Eclipse and Breaking dawn)   these books are special for young people, like stories about sci-fiction  adventure and of course romance . Moreover, she is the most famous writer  now,  her inspiration for witting these books begin only with a dream that she had on June 2nd, 2003 The dream is about a girl and a vampire who are in love, like  the characters in  Jane Eyre, Anne Green Gables,Pride and Prejudice,Romeo and Juliete ,Wuthering Heights and The Merchant of Venice . The plot  of  Twilight is very well known, it is about Bella who is a tapeworm and Edward who is a sad vampire . Also the story  has strong emotions like love, sadness, anger, desperation and more. Also these books have  been adapted  into movies. The premiere of  Eclipse  was one month ago and was amazing d .Stephenie is clever ,because she created this imaginative world of  good vampires  that they are in love  and sometimes  save the humanity  of the bad vampires  and  course they have a the beautiful lady . It is so nice.

The Blanket...by Edyluz Murillo :)

THE BLANKET

As young child, he was quiet and shy. he was also sick most of the time. His parents worked, and he spent a lot of time at his grandparents house. While his grandmother cleaned and cooked, his grandfather played with him. He was six when his grandfather died, a few months before he died, he gave him a beautiful blue  blanket He loved the blanket very much because it reminded him of his grandfather. However, after a couple of years the blanket did not look very good,  it had holes and stains. He did not want to throw the blanket away, so his mother turn the blanket into a book bag, he was proud of the book bag, and he used it to carry  his books to school every day for a couple of years. Then the book bag tore. He begged his mother to make something out of it, and  she made  a pencil case; but it  tore too. By then he could sew, and he made the pencil case into a small change purse. he used it for three years, but one day he lost it , he felt bad. his friends and family said forget about it Paul you can’t make something out of nothing. he thought about it for a while he decided his friends and family were wrong. There was a way to make something out of nothing, he wrote down the story of my grandfather’s blanket last week his son found the story in the attic ,and his son asked him about the blanket and he said that his grandfather and his blanket are not gone.
Because his grandfather lived with them forever.

Peter and Gaia ...... by Darin Calderón :)

Peter and Gaia  -  Part I

Peter was an ordinary man until he saw one of those videos that circulate in the net about pollution and stuff  about  the degradation of the planet, since this day he used each moment of his life to try to save the earth until he fell ill. In his last moments he thought of how little he had done for the planet and muttered "If I had had more time might have done more" and suddenly remembered the word "Gaia" which he had seen  in some history books and was the name of the goddess of  earth then thought:”If Gaia were  real, sure she could do something, but she was only a crazy idea of some crazy Greeks” and suddenly he felt unconscious.

When he awoke he was in a beautiful forest and thought: “Well done I’m in the paradise” then a beautiful woman but with a sad face approached him and asked, “You know who I am” and he replied “No idea I guess that you are an angel” then she said: ““No exactly” but I give you a hint “I’m not a crazy idea and I can give you more time””; Peter felt his heart beating very fast and realized that this wasn’t the paradise or at least the paradise that he thought it was.

Donald Zolan! good job Xiomara!

More information about Zolan... by Xiomara Puño

Donald Zolan

When I was doing my  reasearch for the project I saw a touching picture and I wanted to know about the author. He is Donald Zolan. He was born in 1937 and grew up in Brookfield, Illinois with a family of artists. He started drawing at age three. He was working in watercolors and winning local competitions at the age of five. When he was thirteen, he won a scholarship for the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago. His pictures are in the best gallerys of art and museums. We can see them in dishes, dollys, congratulation cards too.

I like his pictures, because he only paints children. I can see love and happyness in his works. They look real and unreal for moments. The children express their emotions, and they are portayed with  nature and animals. His pictures symbolize the  children’s hearts. I think that Donald preserves the amazing feeling of a child. We should do the same.
